PUC Minas faced a critical challenge: two independent portals, PUC Carreiras and Filhos da PUC, were operating on legacy technologies with severe content management limitations.

Dexa took on the mission to execute a full migration and Design System implementation, rebuilding both sites on a modern, scalable technical foundation oriented toward the diverse user journeys of the university’s audience.

CONTEXT

Transforming legacy portals into intelligent, manageable platforms

CHALLENGE

The PUC Carreiras and Filhos da PUC portals faced critical issues that directly impacted the university's digital reputation, maintenance costs, and user experience. The result was two independent sites characterized by rigid management, low editorial flexibility, and an outdated visual structure.

Obsolete technology & rigid CMS management

Both sites relied on legacy WordPress setups with minimal flexibility for creating or updating pages. Managing events, job fairs, and institutional content required complex, slow, and non-intuitive processes.

Fragmented user journeys & outdated visual identity

Difficult navigation and scattered information made for a disjointed experience, hindering the journey for students, alumni, and partner companies alike.

Disorganized content architecture & unstable infrastructure

Legacy taxonomies made searching and filtering information nearly impossible. Furthermore, hosting was tied to the university’s internal infrastructure, leading to access delays and deployment bottlenecks.
